Revenge is the best Attitude

“Have you ever been criticized? Or been doubted by your closed ones?” Prajakt asked me.

“Yes, of course. I mean who wasn’t?” I replied, quite shocked by his out-of-blue question.

“And how did you react or what you do of that criticism?” he asks again as if searching for some specific answers, which obviously I hadn’t.

“I let those present ‘tense’ sentences turn into past perfect tense” I replied. (Sarcasm is in my blood) “I mean who takes such comments from your so called caring relatives or good for nothing friends.

“You know what I did or do when someone criticizes me? I add one tag to my name.” he said answering his own question.

“Could you please elaborate?” I asked.

“Of course, that’s the most interesting part for me. See, I am junior college dropout, I didn’t finish my education, I did many part time jobs like salesmanship, working at stores etc., and then jumped into film industry from nowhere just to save my Dad’s money, though I have keen interest in software development” he said pausing for some time.

“What criticism has to do with all this?” I asked.

“Everything. I have always been criticized by all relatives & many friends. I don’t know why they wanted to show me the right path when there were so many things going wrong in their own lives. My point is that just because I am different doesn’t make me wrong for any reason, we all are same but only differently, “he answered.

“I am an Actor, Writer, Lyricist, Director, Cinematographer, Web developer, Editor & I can simply go on & on telling you about what else I had done & can do in my life but don’t want to be boisterous. My motto is to tell you that only because someday someone has criticized me doesn’t make me a loser” he said with witty smile.

“I prefer to tell my critics I can but I won’t coz I don’t give a shit for you”, I said laughingly.

“Nothing makes me happier than proving people wrong who underestimated me without knowing my will power. And more over we all must develop this habit.” he said.

Then he added “I will go further and say write down names of all those who hates you, criticizes you, let them be your relatives, friends, neighbor or anyone. I have been through worst of criticism and rejection but never let that bog me down nor even bothered to feel bad”.

“Is that possible to use revenge as driving force??” I asked.

Prajakt laughed and said “Revenge is not a force but an Attitude we all must have. I live by that. But of course I am not saying to follow me blindly but yes, this has been my experience under the conditions I was. I am not saying this is success formula but could be one reason to excel in whatever you do.”

“Will that be helpful? If I go on pressing myself for revenge over criticism, won’t it make me look bad? How I am supposed to win over every criticism? I questioned him.

“Aadesh, You must hate Losing more than you love winning buddy. Trust me, there is nothing that we can’t do, be it anybody”, Prajakt said with his signature notorious smile.

After this little chat, I felt so inspired that I literally recapped few criticisms I had faced in my life. It literally charged my brain wires. So I am ready to beat all. Are you ready to take on those who have no idea of your potential and criticize you for itsy bitsy failures?
