Right things went Wrong

“Oh GOD where is my Ana”, I thought to myself while reading 50 Shades of Grey. I was in different world, when Prajakt entered and shook my world upside down.

“All are my enemies, they don’t have any idea of what we are doing”, Pj entered flat bursting in anger and directly went to his room. I knew something is very wrong. I asked our other flat mate who came following him, he said “Office” and before he could finish Pj returned leaving his laptop bag in room.

“Aadesh, let’s go for tea”, he said. I knew how urgent this is, so didn’t bother to change into jeans.

“My Dad is making me suffer, burdening me with dumb-ass people, who can’t do one thing properly & expecting to become Filmmakers”, he said without addressing it to me. But it wasn’t rocket science to know he is telling me.

I didn’t know what to say or even how to calm him down. I gave him sympathetic concerned look.

“Right things has no place in my life, eventually they went wrong”, he said looking at me.

“Sorry but I had no idea about what you are saying”, I found no other words to express my confusion.

“I jumped into film industry to save money & that was the reason I chose Digital cams over Reel cams, didn’t hire any professional technician from Mumbai but trusted my friends, and had no star in my film but all new comers. No foreign location, no item song” he was spiting furiously.

He continued and I could dare to stop him mid way “But after accident my Dad opened office and things got worse. I believed, in our industry instinct are most important aspects, creativity & innovation are our tools. And this tool doesn’t work for 9-5 job.”

“Isn’t that obvious?” I asked him.

“No, this obvious thing is uncertain. Many aspiring filmmakers think that they need degree or lots of money or stars to make movie work. But unfortunately they all fail to believe in their own self, their talent, hard work & most importantly their studies,” he was calm.

“I will eat samosa before you continue with your saga. Anything for you?” I inquired.

“Samosa & tea, thanks”, he replied.

“Now you can continue, where we were?” I said giving him samosa & tea.

“Nothing but your study, education, passion & plan works for you. But I was surrounded by people who has no faith in themselves, they all were blind, deaf & dumb when it comes to being creative, innovative & understanding any aspect of filmmaking. Further I would say I will prefer company of 300 pages book rather than 20 such guys because author of such books has experience of 10 years & he willingly shares his knowledge while these 20 guys are good for nothing”, he replied.

“That was a very rude comment”, I said feeling pity for those to whom he was addressing.

“Rude? That was truth. And I don’t care if they hate me for being disciplined and dedicated to my dream of forming FILM INDUSTRY here in Nagpur. It’s the price every individual has to pay for their dreams, dreams bigger than daily needs of common people”, he explained.

“Greater the Goals worse are Roads”, I said.

“True, if that was not sarcasm”, he said laughingly.
That time I realized how difficult it is to convince others for your vision. You have to over look small things as failures till you succeed.
