Naash-Null Day (! national)

I believe each one of us is a proud Indian, willing to work for the nation but the question is how do we bring about unison in our efforts? It cannot be through the following of a narrow agenda. We cannot give into regional, sectarian or caste considerations. These concepts militate against the very principles we chose to follow when we began our journey as a free nation. All Indians, undoubtedly, have many identities but with an underlying common identity of being Indian. We may hail from one region but belong to a different caste or religion or speak a different language, but that cannot dilute our Indian identity. That identity in essence means a civilizational ethos of a shared experience of living together in harmony through generations, in a milieu of great diversity but in a spirit of tolerance and forbearance, that flows from our basic belief of unity.

I still feel the moment when my mom used to wake me up in early morning saying the lines “Rohit today is National day (15th Aug & 26th Jan in India)”. Those are only the days when we too get up willingly in the colds of winter. We do it in hurry to take TIRANGA (Indian National Flag) in our hands, we were eager to participate in Rally and in March to do Narebaazi. We use to give our full potential because those are only celebrations we celebrate in schools and now I realized these celebrations only celebrated in schools.

The changed scenario in colleges i have seen is like only gatekeepers were passionate in the celebration of our Freedom Day with bunch of teachers who are there to deliver their speech on the college progress not on National progress, I see rush in my college on Republic Day but for celebrating “Rose Day” by the name of Traditional Day. The country says the “youth are the future of India”, and these college pursuers are the 40% populations celebrating Rose Day. In veins of these large chunk blood flowing is more romantic not patriotic. Someone feels insulting if he dares to discuss patriotic tells and such feelings of patriotism are ignored and not considered the part of youth discussions. Boys are busy talking about girls and girls in discussing boys because some years ago their festival started celebrating in India the ‘Valentine Day’ now they added some more days for its pre-celebration chocolate day, gift day, kiss day etc. and made it Valentine week, and I am sure they will make it valentine month in the coming years.

35% Indian population is the busiest category “The Job Doers”, they are tired of office routine have no time for the family except Holidays. Most of these categories accept that they live in the prisons of blanket on freedom day; they don’t turn Alarm On for Republic day as they do for daily routine. They accepted their lives are now caged in business briefcases but these are not Holidays of Rest, “These are National Holidays and government kept them as holiday for the celebration of the National Days” but these categories also do celebration in their busy life on Religious festivals.
Now I questioned myself who celebrate these days and my answer is ‘Everyone’ but only in schools. The busy category not understands that indirectly they serves Nation not to their Superiors, the youth don’t know how much potential and confidence they will carry with Patriotic feeling and never ever with romantic feelings. The country like japan, china are growing fast only because of their people don’t consider their self an ‘AAM AADAMI’ (normal person) everyone consider them as a part of nation, In our country the feeling attended in the Army, Navy and other solders, who give you right to blame Police and Politicians that they are not doing good for the country but the point is they are doing for the country the normal people not even thinking about country. In the Freedom fight there was no category,
Bhagat Singh was of age 23, Lala Lajapatrai was of 80, Subhas Chandra Bos was solder where Rani Laxmi Bai was a lady.

“Everyone in this country is respecting and knows the story of Patriotic personalities but no one is ready to write such stories again”.

A poem on the same situation by me :
