The whole game of film making takes
another turn when you have completed it for your audiences.
You start from writing story then
choosing right Director, Actors and other key crew members. You work to shed
every single cell of your body to make a movie.
Then it moves toward Post production
phase and you feel like being caught in world of blood suckers. They (Dubbing
studios, Sound mixing studios and Marketing team) make sure you regret your
decision of making a film.
But this isn't the end of your suffering,
now you have to grilled through Censor board, Distributors, Channel owners and
Multiplex owners. They can change the destiny of your movie. It may get thrown
into dustbin if you messed up with any one.
If you successfully survive through this
then you are lucky enough to witness a day called "Preview Day" of
your movie.
Now here is the insight of what went
through behind the Preview of LASTBENCHERS movie.
"Hume ko aisa preview karna hai jo
iske pehle kabhi nahi hua", Prajakt Rebeloma.
"Humne har cheez waise ki jaise abhi
tak kissi ne nahi ki", I replied.
"Aadesh we will continue with same
trend. And as we know that it has cost us a lot to bring out movie till this
point, we won't compromise on our plans. The first preview for Elite group of
people will be shown in Bollywood Centre Point on 8th July at 6:00 pm with
limited special invitees", said Prajakt.
"Bhai par humari audience to
youngster hai, to hum elite group ko kyu dikha rahe hai?", Sanket Galactus
asked.
"Wo isliye kyuki youngster ko target
karne k life mere pass dusra plan hai, abhi in logo ko isliye kyuki inhone
humehsa humari mehnat aur kabiliyat pe doubt kiya, bus ek bar inhe bata do," Prajakt
explained.
"But do you think able 5 din me say
kaam ho jayenge?I mean puri tayyari ho jayegi?"Sanket asked worriedly.
"Hall to book ho gaya hai, bur
invitations air banner ka kaam baki hai. Projector aur Screen to hai hi. Aur
kya chahiye?"Prajakt knew his plan and what he is trying to achieve in 5
days.
"I think Invitation date waqt we
need to take lot of care that they should not misunderstood that its a function
where they are guest and they will be felicitated. Otherwise they may feel bad
or even insulted", I suggested.
"That’s right. Only Roshan, Milind
and Vikram will go to invite everyone. Rohit may join them. And you guys have
to make sure that there is no confusion about the preview. Let’s get started
with it." Prajakt finishes his meeting.
For next two days invitation cards were
printed and list of all VIPs and elite people is made.
Roshan, Milind, Vikram & Rohit
divided the list in four parts and started distributing cards. Inviting people
for Preview isn't that easy, especially when they don't know what a preview
means. For them every function has same sequences of cutting a ribbon,
delivering speech for 2 minutes addressing media and leaving hall as soon as
possible.
And Inviting people was just the
beginning of our troubles because we have a lot to go through.
"We will do a business presentation
before preview", said Prajakt.
"And how this will help our Preview?”
I asked him.
"It won't help preview but it will
help us in future projects. Our main motto behind preview is to showcase our
product, so why not to ask all the Producers, Builders and Mall owners to
invest in our next project. If they liked LASTBENCHERS they will surely gonna
invest in next movie projects", Prajakt explained.
"But no such business presentation
were conducted in any of Preview, I think they don't even have any kind of
presentation at all", I said.
"Humne to pehle hi kaha tha, is
preview me kuch alag karenge. To bus hum business presentation karenge"
was Prajakt's reply.
"Thik hai, let’s do it then."
Now we were left with one day and there
were more than 100 guest to be invited and presentation to be made. Banners
were ordered but we didn't know whether we will get them on time or not.
Few team meets were held to know work
flow & how far we need to push ourselves.
8th July 2014. Preview day of
LASTBENCHERS movie.
Almost everything from our to-do list was
ticked off. Camera team reached at venue at 12pm, projectionist was checking
everything at 4:30 pm. Me, Sanket & Rohit reached at 5:00pm to take charge
of our respective departments.
As I hospitality head I was supposed to
attend every guest,and make sure they get a seat to enjoy movie. I was assisted
by Rashmi who was receptionist for this event.
This was really tough for all of us to
pull this preview in less than 5 days but we did with our team work and proper
guidance from Prajakt Rebeloma. It was a fun and new experience to meet so many
different kind of people under one roof. Looking forward to such more events.
